All of our gemstones are accompanied with a full detail report from Sri Lanka’s most respected gemological laboratories; the Gemological Institute of Colombo (GIC) or the Center for Gem & Jewelry Private Ltd (CGJ). The gemstone identification report describes whether the stone is natural or synthetic, identifies the type of gemstone, and includes any detectable treatments. This report also contains a detailed description of the gemstone such as cut, shape, weight, measurement, and color, and includes a photograph of the gemstone.

A It is the standard measurement of weight used in the gem industry. 5 Carat is equal to 1gram.
AYou can see that we have categorized our gems as dark, medium and light. Deep colors considered the best and so get the highest price. Gems classified as medium are the 2nd best quality and are priced below dark. Prices reduce as the color intensity reduces.

A Yes, we do provide gemological certificate through qualified and authorized gemological laboratories the Gemological Institute of Colombo (GIC) or the Center for Gem & Jewelry Private Ltd (CGJ). Gemological Certificate comes with full detail and a photograph of the gem. Certification is a FREE service we offer. In addition, each gemstone that we issue has a company’s ‘Guarantee Certificate’ which certifies the gemstone quality and weight.
A An email will reach you within next working day to confirm that your order has been received.
A Payments for online orders will have to be paid via bank to bank transfer. After confirmation, our bank details and a scanned copy of the formal invoice will be provided via email to make the payment.

A It is a must to insure your package and it covers loss of goods on arrival and during transit from Super Shine Gems office to your delivery address.

A We want to make sure that all our customers are 100% satisfied with their purchases. We understand that it is difficult to buy gemstones without feeling them in personally. For this reason, we offer a full refund of your purchase price if you are unhappy with what you receive for any valid reason. From the time you receive your shipment, you have 3 days in which to carefully inspect your gems. If you feel that you would like to return them, just contact us within this time and we can arrange your refund. You may return in the same packaging and condition.
A Yes, as soon as your shipment is dispatched, a confirming e-mail containing the consignment number of your shipment will be sent to you.
A We do not keep any record of custom/ import duties or taxes applicable in your country, as they widely differ from country-to-country. Therefore, we advise you to contact your local customs office and to obtain accurate information.

A A Gem stone can take few steps when it comes from the mine to the final buyer. And in each step the traders involved will add their margins and commissions. Since we buy direct from the mine, your end price is free from all these expenses. And also the Gem & Jewelry Authority of Sri Lanka intervenes in all the steps of the exporting process while confirming the prices as well as the quality of the gem stone with the view of avoiding deception. Apart from that we make sure that the miner gets the correct price and their workforce is reasonably compensated when a row gem is sold to us.
A The value of a gem is determined by type, size, color, clarity, rarity, and popularity. Even small differences in the hue or the intensity of the color can make a big difference in price. These same small differences in clarity and cut can also create substantial price differences in gemstones. We take original pictures of every gemstone. We always do our best to ensure that the color and saturation is as close as possible to the original stone. We offer gemstones in a wide range of qualities and prices. Please use our pictures and our prices to compare for quality and value. You can be assured that all our stones represent good value for the money. Remember that a $1000 stone will always be better than a $500 stone. So shop and compare, we are confident you will be pleased with our prices and our quality.
A The gemstones are generally divided into two classes- precious stones and semi-precious stones. Rarity is an important factor in determining the cost of a gemstone and the value of a gemstone should not increase or diminish just because it is categorized as precious or semi-precious. Rarest gems are classified as precious stones such as Sapphires, Emeralds and Rubies. All other gemstones are classified as semi-precious.
A There are many styles of cutting but there is no one particular style that is right for every gemstone. The Gemstones that we sell are all natural and we cut our fine gemstones in a way that will bring out there true beauty for you to enjoy. We employ cutters who use their imagination and experience in cutting our gems to ensure the best possible finished gemstones. We use many different styles of cutting to make our finished stones are better as much as possible.
A Each gemstone has its own particular characteristics. Any experienced jeweler will be able to confirm that the gemstone you ordered is the gemstone you received. In fact, we encourage you to have the authenticity of your gemstone verified by a local gemstone jeweler.
